HOW saddened I was to hear of the death of Samantha Clarke in a road accident on Ely Road in Little Downham. I live on that road and arrived at the scene shortly after the dreadful accident on my way to work. Almost in the same spot the previous day someone had overturned their car ending up in the field and since I moved to Ely Road there has been at least one fatality in almost the same spot every year. Will someone from Highways Department please, please start looking seriously at how traffic moves along this road and try to do something to stop this dreadful loss of life?
