MENINGITIS UK would like to say a huge 'thank you' to the people of Ely for giving £267 towards the charity's life-saving research. University students from Bath raised the money during a street collection held on August 1.

Meningitis UK has a single focus - to support research into finding a vaccine to eradicate meningitis and meningococcal septicaemia. Although successful vaccines exist to protect against some forms of meningitis, there is still no vaccine to protect against all strains of the disease, including the most common - Meningitis B.

We would like to thank everyone involved in this collection in Ely. Without the continued support from the many University Rag Groups across the country and the general public we would not be able to continue our vital work.

INFO: Meningitis UK would like also like to hear from families who have been affected by meningitis or from anyone who would like to help us in our search for a vaccine. Please phone on 0117 373 7373 or visit www.meningitisUK.org
