Councillor welcomes rise in Cambridgeshire's educational funding

PUBLISHED: 10:43 17 March 2014 | UPDATED: 10:43 17 March 2014

The Government announcing a consultation that will result in Cambridgeshire's schools per pupil funding - the lowest funded in the country - rising by about £20m in 2015/16 really is excellent news.

The poor state of county educational funding from central government has been shameful over quite a few years.

I am delighted that this imbalance is eventually to be at least partially put right.

The young people of Cambridgeshire deserve at least equal treatment with their peers from other counties.
