ON behalf of myself, Mike Rouse and Allyson Broadhurst, the Conservative candidates, who were successful in winning the three seats in the North Ward of Ely, we want to take this opportunity to thank all the people who voted for us.

However, another reason for this letter is not just to thank supporters, but to try and connect with the people who voted for our opponents. They may think they do not have anyone on the council they can turn to in times of need or dispute.

Let me assure them, all Conservatives will assist in any way we can, we are proud of our heritage and long-established reputation of being fair, truthful and willing to offer the hand of friendship in times of need.

Let me emphasise, without reservation, that all Conservatives will respond in a positive manner to any request for help or assistance when dealing with national or local government departments or at time of distress or difficulty.

Once again, we would like to thank our helpers, supporters and repeat that the Conservative aim is to keep to our manifesto pledges. We want to make East Cambridgeshire a safer place to live in and a desirable place to bring up a family, or even retire.

RON BRADNEY

East Cambs District councillor.
