Cemetery hazard tapes there for good reason

The yellow tape

I HAVE also been the victim of the yellow tape on head stones situation and I think the reason is because the ground is not level and it is also on a small hill. As the city council own the ground, I think it would be nice if they helped towards the cost.

How many others agree that the ground is the main reason for the stones leaning?

K FLACK, Ely

* MY wife died earlier this year and is buried in Ely Cemetery. I have been visiting her grave several times a week and I am writing to say 'thank you' to all the cemetery staff who keep it so neat and tidy and always have a word of greeting for me. It is a quiet and peaceful place and it is a joy to sit on a seat near her grave in such a lovely setting.

Those who moan about the hazard tapes would be the first to complain if there were an accident, and, I suspect, would shout the loudest if the council was to be found to be breaking the law by not inspecting the headstones.

Mostly, I have seen more workers than visitors when I have been there.

Well done Ely
