I KNOW that anti-scial behaviur can be a real prblem fr peple acrss Nrth East Cambridgeshire. A lt f this is caused by teenage drinking.

Often we can feel pwerless when trying t deal with it. S I was really pleased that Labur's Hme Secretary Jacqui Smith MP this week utlined tugher plice pwers and called fr parents and the drinks industry t play their part in preventing yung peple drinking in public.

Plice must have all the pwers they need t make grups f yung peple drinking in public a thing f the past. A new campaign t cnfiscate alchl frm underage drinkers begins this mnth and lessns will be learned frm it. At the same time we will cntinue t punish thse few irrespnsible retailers that flut the law by persistently selling t children.

Gvernment must lead the way and I am determined that they shuld use all the pwers at their dispsal t bring abut change in Nrth East Cambridgeshire.

But in rder t d this they als need the supprt f industry, enfrcement authrities and cmmunities. Everyne needs t meet their respnsibilities t make a difference. And parents must play their part t. We will give parents whse children are drinking the supprt they need t change their damaging behaviur.

There is a lt f gd wrk being dne t tackle the damage that alchl misuse can d t individuals, t the peple arund them, and t the cmmunities they live in. But I want t us g further, s I fully supprt what the Hme Secretary has annunced. If anyne wuld like mre infrmatin n this issue I have taken the time t attach further details n my website www.necambslabur.c.uk
