THERE is an organisation in the town that, at one time or another every week, occupies at least 200 young people. It's called the Scouting movement (apologies to the Guides, Brownies and Rainbows, but that's how I know the whole lot of you).

Unfortunately the meetings don't run themselves; each one needs a leader (or two). At the moment, the Scouts could do with another adult to help out. The Beavers (the enthusiastic youngsters) are verging on the desperate as far as leaders are concerned. It would be a real shame to see any of these very worthwhile groups fold through lack of adult support; there are plenty of youngsters. You don't have to do everything and you don't have to do it every day of every week, but if you can spare a bit of time for an extremely rewarding return have a word with Marion on 01353 624493.
