Claire van Leersum is just one of 3.500 women who will be taking part in the Cambridge Race For Life on Sunday. Claire, from Ely, is a seasoned runner and will have no problem running the 5k distance but many of those who take part are inexperience runners who will walk or jog in order to take part and raise money for Cancer Research UK.

Claire, who will be running her sixth Race For Life on Sunday, said: "It's very emotional but it is a great day and in my case it was the starting point for my running."

Claire took up more serious running after completing her first Race For Life six years ago.

Ely Standard editor Debbie is also taking part on Sunday in her first Race For Life.

She said: "I am really excited about the event and can't wait to cross that finish line as I have found the training really difficult. I should be able to complete the distance but it has really been a case of mind over muscles!"

If you are taking part in Race For Life on Sunday, send us your photos and we will set up a website gallery. Get your family or friends to take a photo of you at the start or the finish or even during the race and email it to: editor@ely-standard.co.uk

All the photos will be online at: www.elystandard24.co.uk
