Littleport Village Hall won the East Cambs Carpet Bowls Association Knock-Out Cup for the second season running.

The final, against Over, was held at Ross Peers Sports Centre, in Soham, on April 1.

The team from Littleport was pitted against this season’s First Division league winning team from Over, a real clash of the heavyweights.

In the final, the first two games of fours saw Littleport Village Hall win 7-3 on one carpet while Over won 5-3 on the other.

The first set of pairs games saw Littleport Village Hall win on both carpets 8-5.

The second set of pairs games also saw Littleport Village Hall win on both carpets,9-4 and 6-4.

Together with the handicap difference of one shot in favour of Over, the final overall score of 42 to 28 shots, made a convincing win for Littleport.
