Littleport Village Hall were crowned East Cambs Carpet Bowls Association League Knock-Out Cup champions last week.

The village outfit triumphed over last year’s winners and rivals Over at the Ross Peers Sports Centre in Soham on April 12.

Over took the lead by 20 to 14 shots after the first two games of fours, but Littleport drew level at 29-29 after the first set of pairs games.

And the local team sealed their success in the final set of pairs games, winning 11-4 on one carpet and losing 8-3 on the other, taking their overall score to 42-31.
