Netball players from across East Cambridgeshire donned their best fancy dress outfits to raise money for Children in Need.

In a display of sportsmanship and generosity, Ely Netball Club played host to their annual charity tournament to raise funds.

Teams from Witchford, Stretham, City of Ely, as well as two teams from the club itself, battled it out on the courts.

Donning Pudsey ears, polka dots and tutus, 45 netballers gathered under the floodlights for a fun filled night of mini matches, with Witchford emerging as the undisputed champions.

Combining the entry fees, cake sale and raffle, the club managed to raise £388 for the charity.

"All in all, this was a true testament to the netball community’s commitment to making a positive impact," said Emily Norman from the Ely club.

She added: "Ely Netball Club welcomes both experienced players and those new to the sport. On January 3 and 10, the club is encouraging interested players to join their new player’s night training sessions."

The club trains on Wednesdays, from 7.30pm to 9pm. at the King’s school.
