Road closed after pedestrian is hit by car in Ely

A busy main road through Ely was closed this morning after a pedestrian was hit by a car.

The incident took place at the Chapel Street junction with Lynn Road shortly after 10am, with reports that a man had been hit.

Police closed the road while East of England Ambulance crews treated the man, who was described as “conscious and breathing”. It is understood his injuries were not serious.

The road was due to be re-opened again by 11.30am.
