Police log hundreds of anti-social behaviour incidents

THERE were more than 1,600 cases of anti-social behaviour in East Cambridgeshire reported to police in 2012, new figures have revealed.

Data released under a Freedom of Information Act request showed that between January 1 and December 31, 2012, there were 1674 complaints logged by police, about one for every 50 people living in the district.

According to the figures, March was a particularly troublesome year for Cambridgeshire police, with 199 incidents recorded.

November was a decidedly quieter month for officers however, as there were only 99 incidents recorded.

On average, there were 139 incidents logged with police every month. Incidents logged as anti-social behaviour include vandalism, excessive noise, dog fouling, littering and many others.
