Police are appealing for witnesses after a lorry driver was stabbed in Haddenham this morning (Tuesday).

The man had parked in a layby on Sutton Road at about 7.20am and was getting out of his lorry when he was attacked from behind.

The victim, 45, has been taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital with serious but not life threatening injuries.

The offender is described white, six foot, medium build and wearing dark clothing. It is believed he may have fled the scene in a vehicle.

Police have been as yet unable to identify a motive for the attack.

Det Sgt Phill Richardson said: “The road would have been busy at the time of this assault and I would urge anyone who witnessed the incident to contact police.

“The lorry is very distinctive with the word ‘Savage’ on the side and I would like to hear from anyone who may have seen someone hanging round this vehicle or fleeing from it.

“It is important we catch this man as soon as possible and we have a number of officers working on this investigation at this time.”

Anyone with information should contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
