Police helicopter called in to help search for teenager who went missing

A manhunt was launched after a teenager went missing from his home in Little Downham on Sunday.

The boy, understood to be 14, was reported missing to police at 7.45pm, with the police helicopter called in to help search the fields around the village.

An appeal was put out for help on Facebook and dozens of villagers joined the search before the teenager was finally located and returned home safely.

A spokesman for Cambridgeshire police said: “We were called to reports of a missing teenager in Little Downham at 7.45pm on Sunday. He was found safe and well at 9.45pm.”
