Hirsute Philip Murray braved the barber’s clippers this week to raise funds for Wood Green Animal Shelter.

Philip, 20, was shorn of his impressive beard and flowing locks at Haddenham Sports and Social Club last Friday by friends Sophie Housden and Tina Dolan.

Philip, from Haddenham, raised more than £110 as a result of the feat, which was watched by a crowd of friends and supporters.

The 20-year-old chose Wood Green Animal Shelter because of his love of animals.
