Motorist cut from car following collision on A142

A woman had to be cut free from her car by firefighters after careering into a ditch.

A crew from Chatteris and another from Ely were called at about 11.20am today (Wednesday) to reports of a collision on the A142, in Mepal.

Firefighters arrived to find a car in a ditch. Using cutting equipment, they released a woman from the car and left her in the care of ambulance crews.

The extent of her injuries is unknown.
