A LACK of members has forced the closure of Little Thetford Senior Citizens Club, after a history that dates back more than 30 years.

Members enjoyed a fish and chip lunch and games of carpet bowls and dominos when the club met for the last time in the village hall on January 4.

Rose Bussingham, 77, whose mother was a founder member, said: “It was a sad day when the club had to close, but our membership had been dwindling for sometime. We were down to nine members when we called a halt.”

Rose, who was both secretary and treasurer, added: People who came to the club very much enjoyed it, but we were losing members, and no knew members were joining.

“I will hold on to all the club documents, so if anyone wants to resurrect the club they can do so.”
