A man who stole a laptop from a teacher’s flat at King’s School, Ely, as well burgling homes in Broad Street and Barton Road, Ely, has been jailed.

A man who stole a laptop from a teacher’s flat at King’s School, Ely, as well burgling homes in Broad Street and Barton Road, Ely, has been jailed.

Thomas Gillett, 27, of The Row, Sutton, was jailed at Cambridge Crown Court for two years and 10 months.

He had asked for other offences to be considered and the judge also activated a suspended sentence imposed last year.

The court was told he had relapsed after losing his job.

The judge said a significant sentence was needed.
