The Magpas Air Ambulance has been called to treat a man in his 60’s who had been ‘seriously injured’ in a collision between his car and a fallen tree in Waterbeach.

The incident follows the strong winds that hit Fenland over night – the call was made at 5:37am this morning (January 18).

The Magpas enhanced medical team assessed the patient who had sustained serious leg injuries – the man was given advanced pain relief and was sedated at the scene.

He was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital via land ambulance and said to be in a ‘very serious but stable condition upon arrival’.

Magpas Doctor, Richard Booker and Paramedic, Ollie Robinson both attended the scene.

An EEAST Ambulance Service paramedic crew, Cambridgeshire Police and the Fire and Rescue Service were also in attendance.
