An Ely school was the first in Cambridgeshire to take part in a tour which aims to ‘share the good news about Jesus through concerts’.

Indie-pop band BrightLine travelled from Manchester to King’s Ely on October 1 to launch the Higher Youth Tour Cambs.

The band delivered workshops, which were sponsored by the Diocese of Ely, Scripture Union, Youth for Christ and supported by local Ely churches, to students in Years 7 to 13 based on self-esteem from a Christian perspective.

A spokesman said: “The Higher Tour, which is supporting the work of the Message Trust, aims to ‘raise a generation of culture-shifting disciples’.

“The initiative will be touring countrywide, delivering lessons in schools and sharing the good news about Jesus through concerts and large events.

The regional tour ends with the Higher Cambs 2018 Concert, which takes place at Ely Cathedral this Saturday, October 6, at 7pm.
