Dogs and their owners dressed for the occasion at March Dog Training Club’s Christmas party.

The winner of the fancy dress competition, selected by guest judge Vanessa Grange, of Amical Vets, was Jane Lake with her dog Carly, who came as “Elf and Stafey”.

One of the organisers Pat Winfield said: “Following the fancy dress with all dogs looking more like their everyday selves we went into a programme of games for dogs and owners.

“It is always great fun and enjoyed by all who take part with fantastic doggy prizes for the winners. We then took a break for food and a grand raffle and then it was time for the presentation of “

Dogs do tests in December before being judged at various levels of obedience. The winner of the highest level of testing this year was Katrina Penny with her dog Sox who came out top in the “B” test.”

March Dog Training Club meets every Wednesday at the Youth and Community Centre, Station Road, March.

Classes, run by trainers Tony Lemmon and Pete Holder, begin at 6pm.

Puppies can join as soon as they have had the full course of vaccinations and been given the go-ahead to go out.

The club has enjoyed a busy year with many people and their dogs to fulfil a club motto that “a well behaved dog is a happy dog”.
