MORE than 4,700 cannabis plants with a potential street value of £3.9 million were discovered in a factory in Fenland on Monday.
Officers discovered the 4,741 plants after a member of the public reported the door of the factory in Benwick Road, Whittlesey, was not secure.
It is one of the largest discoveries made by Cambridgeshire Police.
Crime Scene Investigators carried out forensic searches at the scene.
Two scientific support vehicles and one police car, all non-uniform, were in attendance.
The cannabis plants were discovered in a large industrial unit next to Smurfit Kappa.
The officers entered the unit through a roller shutter door.
No arrests have been made and anyone with information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
