Deep City Deep City

HOLLOWSTAR

Stone Deepe Stone Deepe

This band began life in 2015 and have been raising the roof on venues and entertaining festival crowds ever since. Vocalist and bassist Joe Bonson and his brother, drummer Jack Bonson join guitarists Phil Haines and Tom Collett to create a distinctive take on classic, punchy rock. They have supported artists including Chantel McGregor (at The Apex in 2016) and Toseland and regularly receive radio airplay on BBC Introducing.

CATHEDRALS & CARS

Mainstays of the Bury St Edmunds’ music scene for over 5 years, vocalist Jack Stevens leads this three piece ‘intelligent art rock’ group, whose Influences include Death Cab For Cutie and Roxy Music. The band have won the NMG Award for Best Alternative Group for three years running, but only perform live shows a handful of times a year, so don’t miss this rare opportunity to see one of the town’s best.

DEEP CITY

Inspired by the 1975, Deep City’s music consists of moody, atmospheric samples and darkpop guitar tones, which combine their love of 80s and 90s synth sounds with 21st century pop sensibility.

In 2016, the band’s track ‘Where Are We’ featured on a Record Store Day vinyl release for R*E*P*E*A*T Records, which saw them receive radio airplay from Steve Lamacq on BBC 6 Music. In the same year they won the ‘Ones to Watch’ award at the prestigious Cambridge Band Competition and were runners up in BurySOUND.

SIAH

If Cathedrals & Cars are mainstays of the music scene, SIAH are the post-punk upstarts. Vocalist Charlie Stannard leads this Bury St Edmunds based teenage quartet who are making a welcome return to The Apex, having played the debut 545 night in 2016.

STONE DEEPE

If you’re into bands like Pink Floyd, Tame Impala and Muse then Stone Deepe are right up your street. This Cambridge four-piece have just released their debut self-titled EP and have performed at the Cambridge Rock Festival and Cambridge Junction in the past twelve months.
