Two fashion design students from King’s Ely Sixth Form have gained places to study at a prestigious London college.

Connie Wynn and Emanuella Tamimi were two of only 20 students to be offered a place for next year’s hand embroidery degree programme at Royal School of Needlework, based at Hampton Court Palace.

Graduates go on to enjoy careers in haute couture, costume, film, theatre, conservation, restoration, teaching and research.

Alison Rhodes, King’s director of art, said: “When exhibiting King’s Ely students’ fashion design work at Alexandra Palace last year, school directors spotted our A-level work and invited us to visit the school and discuss the further education opportunities available.

“Connie and Emanuella were then interviewed for the degree programme and were offered places.
