The collision happened on Thursday evening but these dramatic photos from the scene have only just been made available.

A Black Fiat Punto collided with a silver Audi A4 at the A141 Gaul Road junction at about 5.30pm.

The Audi ended up in a ditch, while an engine fell out the bottom of the Punto.

All five people were taken to hospital in an ambulance.

The road was closed until 7.30pm, which caused tailbacks in March town centre.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision.

PC Matt Smart said: “This happened at a busy time of day.

“I would appeal to anyone who saw the collision, or either vehicle prior to it, to call police.”
