It was a busy night for firefighters in East Cambridgeshire on Thursday as crews were called to two car fires.

The first incident was reported at about 4.15pm, with firefighters from Ely called to High Street, Sutton, following reports that a car was on fire.

Crews used a dry powder extinguisher to quell the flames and returned to their station by 6pm.

A second incident was reported at about 6.40pm in Rosebay Gardens, Soham, with a crew from the town using two hose reels to put out the blaze.

The cause of the fire was accidental, by electrical equipment.
