Traffic has been held up on the A1065 after a security alert at RAF Lakenheath.

The American base says they have “recently identified a security concern at Gate 8 while conducting a vehicle inspection”.

A base spokesman says this means all traffic is stopped on the A1065.

The spokesman said: “First responders are acting quickly to investigate and eliminate any potential threat. We’ll provide more information as soon as it’s available.

“Until then, we appreciate your patience as we implement necessary measures to ensure your safety. Thank you!”
