Students at a Cambridgeshire college have raised £600 to pay for a rolling printing press for the arts department.
A group of 20 Year 9s, 10s and 11s at Soham Village College fundraised for two years, with pupils even giving up some of their Easter holidays to run art classes for younger children, to get hold of the equipment.
They were shown how to use the press at a workshop on Wednesday.
Also at the college, murals have been erected in the modern foreign languages block by artists from six different countries.
They were created by artists from the college’s Gifted and Talented group, who were given two days off normal lessons to design the colourful works.
Earlier this month, 35 Year 10 computer science pupils made the trip to Duxford for Microsoft’s Think Computer Science day, where they learnt about the industry and its career opportunities.
The event, which was attended by schools across Cambridgeshire, ended with a quiz, which was won by students James Rawson and George Tuli.
They were given a cheque for £1,000, which the college plans to spend on Tablets for Apps to be designed on.
