Arsonists torch van near railway station

Arsonists set fire to a van near Shippea Hill Station on Sunday.

Firefighters from Littleport were called to the small station shortly before 11.15am after reports that a van was on fire.

Wearing breathing apparatus, the crew extinguished the blaze using a hose reel and returned to their station by 2pm.

The cause of the fire was deliberate. Anyone with information should contact the police on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
