The A1 through part of Cambridgeshire has been closed today after a police firearms BMW in collision with a Land Rover Discovery.

A police spokesman said: “The Land Rover flipped and landed on its roof, however the driver has walked away with minor injuries.”

Emergency services are currently at the scene of the collision involving a police firearms vehicle and the Land Rover Discovery on the A1 (M) at Brampton.

Two officers who were in the marked police BMW suffered minor injuries.

The road has been closed on the northbound carriageway between Brampton Hut and the Spittals interchange and will remain closed for some time while traffic officers look into what caused the collision.
