It was a busy weekend for the Ely Air Cadets who took first place at the Eastern Cambridgeshire Sector Field Day.

Fourteen cadets competed against five squadrons in the East of Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire Wing.

The 1094 Squadron (City of Ely) cadets came first in the day long competition to win the Trophy for the second year in a row with last year's team being made up of new recruits.

Traditionally Air Cadet Field Day competitions include a range of activities from First Aid to leadership, drill to military intelligence analysis, uniform inspection to aircraft recognition, and even musical performances.

This year's team comprised a broader mix of ages and experience to help prepare the Ely team for the anticipated competition against all twenty-six squadron's in Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire at the forthcoming Wing Field Day Competition.
