An open-air production of 'Treasure Island' at Ely Cathedral promises adventure and musical delights.

The well-known story, to be presented by KD Theatre Productions, will unfold at the dramatically set Dean's Garden.

Theatre-goers can expect a show brimming with adventure and, as the title suggests, hidden treasures.

The performers of KD Theatre Productions will invite audiences to board the fictive Jolly Roger.

Armed with a classic narrative that includes pirates, daring expeditions, and treasure maps, this spectacle is said to be ideal for a family outing.

Organisers say the performance intends to immerse the audience from the moment they step into the garden.

The storyline revolves around young Jane Hawkins who discovers an intriguing treasure map.

This leads to a fortune like no other, though the path to this wealth is fraught with danger.

With the infamous Davina the Sea Witch and her band of pirates hot on their trail, Jane and her allies must outmanoeuvre their opponents to secure the treasure for themselves.

The show's producer and director, Daniel Bell, said: "It’s always a joy to be back in the Dean’s Garden, Ely’s very own secret garden.

"This will be our sixth year presenting an open air show for our audiences, and we can’t wait to bring this exciting story to life."
