Players at Stretham Football Club, Ely, will be completing a 'one hour ice bath' challenge to fundraise for the Caring for Cambridgeshire's Homeless group.

On February 25, members of the Stretham squad will be taking it in turns to complete a combined time of one hour in an ice bath.

The aim of Stretham Football Club's challenge is to not only raise funds for the Caring for Cambridgeshire's Homeless group, but to raise awareness about what it's like being sat in such a cold condition, which is something that homeless people experience during cold, icy winters.

The Caring for Cambridgeshire's Homeless group offers support to the homeless and vulnerably housed in Cambridgeshire.

There are small teams of volunteers in the group who hand out donated items, including hot drinks, food, toiletries and clothing.

The Caring for Cambridgeshire's Homeless group also put together emergency food bags for struggling families.

Money raised by the Ely club in their ice bath challenge will go towards supplies for Caring for Cambridgeshire's Homeless group, as well as food for the group to provide.
